On our passage from Palmerston Island to New Zealand, we spent many days either becalmed or just barely moving along on a flat, peaceful Pacific Ocean. Sometimes the spinnaker would make us sail faster than the wind filling it, and it would collapse... we’d slow down and then it would fill again, and repeat.
Light air sailing skills are the only thing that will keep you from losing your mind when there’s so little wind. If you can keep the boat moving, then the peace of these sailing days makes them some of the most beautiful and inspiring. 🙏🌈⛵️
